There will also be ongoing technical issues with hosting, upgrades and further forum modifications. Then there is the expertise needed in the niche or topic of the forum. You need to be an expert of sorts to keep conversations going, starting new threads and getting involved. Then there is the interpersonal skills needed to handle the volunteer moderators and intervening in disputes between members of the forum who have disagreements.
