Largest. Pearl. Ever.
The largest pearl ever found comes to us from the Phillipines. It was found in 1934 inside, you guessed it, a giant clam. It’s over 14 pounds in weight and it’s actually not a nacreous pearl. This means instead of being shiny it’s more of a flat finish, like porcelain. The story behind it goes, that it was found by a diver and given as a gift by a Muslim chieftan for the rescue of his son. It’s actually been called the “Pearl of Allah.” While this pearl is a beuty in it’s own right I just don’t think you’ll ever see it on a Pearl Ring.
