I Could Have Lost My Freedom
Being charged with animal neglect has been a nightmare for me. Up until a year ago, I was a good pet owner. I took my dog on walks every day, fed him the best food I could find, and played with him for hours. But then I got sick. I could barely take care of myself, let alone a pet. Looking back on it, I realize now that I should have given him away– but he was my best friend, and I needed his company.
